NBC’s prime time special Toby Keith: American Icon was a ratings success, drawing 4.7 million viewers during its telecast on August 28th.

The show, which featured performances by top country artists, was NBC’s most-watched prime time entertainment special in 2024 and ranked in the top 10 across all of broadcasts.

Filmed at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, the special included appearances by Trace Adkins, Carrie Underwood, and more, as well as a special performance by Keith’s daughter, Krystal.

The show was the top-rated program on August 28th among all broadcast competitions in total viewers and grew ten percent from its lead-in, America’s Got Talent.
